The Telecom Connection Voucher scheme has been designed to assist with the cost of connection and first year broadband or leased-line rentals for new businesses establishing on the Island in export earning sectors.
Objective of scheme
The scheme provides £500 towards the cost of connection and first year broadband or leased-line rentals for new Isle of Man businesses established in an export earning sector.
Following a recent review of the Island’s telecoms infrastructure, the scheme has been developed to add an extra measure to the wider package of support and financial assistance available to make it easier and more attractive for people looking to start a business on the Isle of Man.
The voucher scheme is eligible for small and medium enterprise businesses (SMEs) to assist with the cost of connection and line rental.
How assistance is assessed
The Department for Enterprise may provide assistance to an eligible business where, in its opinion, it undertakes an economic activity in the Island. Eligibility for the Telecom Connection Voucher scheme is open for all export earning sectors including Manufacturing, E-Business, E-Gaming, Tourism, Financial and professional services.
The Department for Enterprise will only consider an application for the scheme that has not be submitted for funding from another Government financial scheme for the same project.
The Telecom Connection Voucher scheme is at the discretion of the Department for Enterprise and each project will be assessed on its potential to assist the Government in achieving its strategy to grow the economy by 2020 and to ensure the Island remains an attractive destination for all businesses.
