16 June 2017
The Directors of the Isle of Man Aircraft and Ship Registries will give their views on the reasons for their respective Registry’s success and outline what the future holds at an Isle of Man Business Network (IOMBN) event taking place this month.
‘The Secret of Our Success’, kindly sponsored by Appleby, takes place on the morning of Tuesday, 27th June at the Palace Hotel & Casino in Douglas.
Ship Registry Director, Dick Welsh, and Aircraft Registry Director, Simon Williams, will address guests on the history of the Registries and in their view, why the respective Registries have been so successful, what the future holds and what challenges lie ahead. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
Richard Smith, Chairman of the IOMBN, commented:
‘These are two very important industries for the Isle of Man so we expect this to be an interesting and informative event.
‘I would like to thank both Simon and Dick for giving up their time to present to our guests and we look forward to hearing from their perspective, what is happening in both industries. Our thanks go to Appleby for sponsoring the event and their ongoing support of the IOMBN.’
Simon Williams, Director of the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry, commented:
‘The success of the Aircraft and Ship Registries is a very positive news story and one that the Isle of Man can be rightly proud of. It is great to have an opportunity to highlight the work that the dedicated teams of both organisations do.
'These are two important industry sectors on the Island so we believe that an active, constructive dialogue is a key part of their continued success. I offer my sincere thanks to the IOMBN team for giving Dick and I the opportunity to meet and talk with their members.'
Dick Welsh, Director of the Isle of Man Ship Registry, commented:
'Both Registries have been very successful and I’m a firm believer that we tell our story.
'This is a great platform for us to share ideas and see how other organisations can get involved to grow the Island’s influence on the world stage and create real opportunities here.'
